A Motor Control Center, otherwise known as a Power Distribution System or an MCC Bucket, is a large metal cabinet used to isolate electrical equipment from the outside elements. They are used in large industrial and commercial areas in order to help control some or all of the electric motors. They contain an array of electrical equipment inside of them and are oftentimes in a climate-controlled room.
Not all buckets are created equal. Different model MCC buckets from the same manufacturer do not always interchange. Why is this? There are a number of reasons: New starter and disconnect designs, improved insulating materials, less expensive manufacturing, and corporate acquisitions are some of the reasons. This is where our extensive knowledge of MCC’s and their history help us to make sure you are getting the right product the first time.
